The University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry is fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and Dental Auxiliary Education Programs of the American Dental Association. The School of Dentistry is a member of the American Dental Education Association.

The University is listed by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York and by the Department of Public Instruction of the State of Pennsylvania among their registered institutions.
