Time to Nominate for Alumni of the Year Awards
The School of Dentistry’s Alumni Board of Directors is seeking nominations for the 2007 Alumni of the Year Awards.  Nominations for awards in each of Honorary Alumni of the Year Award, Allied Health Alumnus of the Year Award, or Dental Alumnus of the Year Award.  Deadline for submission is November 1, 2006.  To read the awards criteria or make a nomination, go to the nomination page.

Mellonig to Present on Bone Graft Materials in Periodontics
On September 6, 2006 The Institute for Advanced Continuing Education will be offering the course "Evidence Based Use of Bone Graft Materials in Periodontics" presented by James T. Calling all classes whose graduation date ends in a 2 or a 7.  Now is the time to start planning your class reunion event.  Our reunion page offers a current listing of scheduled reunion activities as well as information on how the Office of Alumni Relations can help you get started in planning your event.

Sterilization Services Available
Department of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry offers a monthly/weekly service to determine the effectiveness of office sterilizers. An integral component of office sterilization procedures is monitoring the efficiency of the system. A multitude of factors may diminish the effectiveness of sterilizer apparatus.  To find out more about this service download the application form or call the Biomedical Sciences Department at (313) 494-6630.
