School of Dentistry's 75th Anniversary Alumni Weekend 2008
Alumni Weekend 2008 is fast approaching and slated for April 18-20, 2008.  In December, save-the-date postcards were sent to all UDMSD alumni across the country to mark this special event.  In mid March, UDMSD Alumni will be mailed an Alumni Weekend invite and registration form. Please join UDM School of Dentistry's 75th anniversary celebration.

Alumni Day: Continuing Education and Recognition Day
Saturday, April 20, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Join us for Alumni Day and connect with your classmates for an entertaining day at the elegant Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Dearborn.  In honor of our 75th anniversary, special pricing has been offered on CE at Alumni Day.  This exciting day includes a dynamic continuing education presentation (4 CEUs) with humorist and psychologist Bruce Christopher who will discuss "Attitude, Humor, and Peak Performance in the Workplace."  Also included at Alumni Day is a continental breakfast and lunch, an Alumni Reception, School of Dentistry's updates, and a Dean's Reception with student table clinic presentations (one additional CEU).  Refer to the Alumni Weekend page for more CE details, pricing, and registration form.

75th Anniversary Gala Hosted at the Detroit Institute Of Arts
Friday, April 18, 6 p.m. - Midnight
A highlight of Alumni Weekend will include the 75th Anniversary Gala hosted at the newly renovated Detroit Institute of Arts on Friday, April 18, 2008.  This elegant black-tie optional event promises to be a unique and lavish evening for 300 attendees including gallery viewing, a cocktail reception, dinner in Kresge Court, and entertainment by the five-piece, big band sound of Ed Kelly & Company. Admission is $175 per person.  UDM alumni invites will be mailed by mid March. Gala Advertising Opportunities
In celebration of the school's 75th anniversary, premier advertising, and event sponsorship opportunities will be offered for you or your organization to be showcased in our Gala program book featured at the Detroit Institute of Arts on April 18.

"Give Kids-a-smile Day" A Bright Success
The new UDM School of Dentistry Corktown Campus opened its doors to host the annual "Give Kids A Smile Day" on Saturday, Feb. 2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  With the help of dentists, dental hygienists, faculty, staff, and students, the UDM School of Dentistry provided free oral health care services to more than 175 children from low-income families.  In partnership with the Detroit, Oakland, and Macomb District Dental Societies, the event gave children in Detroit a lot more to smile about. After each screening, participants received a free oral health kit including toothpaste, floss, and a big smile.
