Potpourri of Oral Pathology - Part 1

This course is designed to provide dental professionals with information on a variety of pathological conditions encountered in dental practice. Highlights of the course will include commonly occurring soft and hard tissue oral and maxillofacial lesions. The topics will range from clinical and radiographic presentations, differential diagnosis and updated management and treatment of common lesions to recently described entities like bisphosphonate related osteonecrosis and burning mouth syndrome. Benign and malignant lesions presenting as lumps and bumps will be covered as well.
Part 1 - The first part of the course will focus on the more common and significant soft tissue lesions that occur in a modern dental practice. Topics will include reactive and neoplastic lesions, the premalignant lesions, bisphosphonate related osteonecrosis of jaws, lesions specific to gingiva and burning mouth syndrome. Emphasis will be placed on the clinical recognition, diagnosis, differential diagnosis and management of these entities.
Part 2 - The second part of the course will focus on common autoimmune diseases of the oral cavity and hard tissue lesions. Emphasis will be placed on the clinical recognition, diagnosis, differential diagnosis and management of these entities.
At the completion of the course participants will be able to:
- Identify the clinical appearance of commonly occurring hard and soft tissue lesions of the oral cavity.
- Recognize the radiographic and clinical features of common hard tissue oral lesions.
- Develop an appropriate differential diagnosis.
- Gain a better understanding of treatment modalities for these lesion.

If you choose to pay for a continuing education course by check, please note that the check must be received by UDM within ten (10) days of registration. If the check is not received within ten (10) days of registration, we will assume that you are no longer interested in the course and will remove you from the course roster and you will forfeit your held seat. If you register less than ten (10) days prior to the start of a course, payment will be accepted up to the course start time. If additional time is required, please contact 313-494-6626 prior to registering to make a payment arrangement.

For your convenience you may register up until 3:00 p.m. on the day prior to the start of the course with no additional charge. An additional non-refundable fee of $20 dollars per person, per course will be assessed to any registrations received after 3:00 p.m. the day prior to a course or to any same day or walk in registrations.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
Unless otherwise posted, a full refund less $25 will be granted if notification of cancellation is received by the Institute for Advanced Continuing Dental Education office two weeks (14 or more days) prior to the start of the course. If a cancellation is received less than two weeks (13 or less days) prior to the start of a lecture only course, a full refund less $100 will be granted. If a cancellation is received less than two weeks (13 or less days) prior to the start of a hands-on course, no refund will be granted. Refunds cannot be given for same any day cancellations or no-shows.
