Dental professionals have seen a "boom" in homecare products and in-office treatment options for patients. With over 250 varieties of toothpaste on the market, one can understand how confusing it can be for consumers. Now more than ever, it is important for dental hygiene professionals to be well-prepared and well-informed to help patients make decisions about their care. This course will present current therapeutic oral care products currently promoted by the media and sales representatives and discuss how the dental hygienist can evaluate the effectiveness, safety and appropriateness for individual patients.
