Course Overview
This free, live, interactive video-conference CE course is designed to provide all oral health professionals with an understanding of current concepts in dental care for pregnant women and the effects on the developing fetus.
Course Objectives
At the completion of the course participants will be able to:
- Discuss current thoughts on dental care during pregnancy and links to developmental disabilities
- Understand the physiological changes and developmental stages of pregnancy
- Understand the effects of drugs, x-rays, dental amalgam, smoking and other factors on the developing fetus
- Discuss the effect of periodontal infection on pregnancy outcomes
- Understand the guidelines for management of pregnant women
