Ajay Ojha, B.D.S., M.S., Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Restorative Dentistry, earned his dental degree from the University of Calcutta, India. He worked as a practicing general dentist in India for sometime before he went to the University of Nebraska to pursue a Master’s degree in Dental Materials. Subsequently, he also completed a residency program in Prosthodontics from the same university. Dr Ojha was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics the University of Florida before joining the University of Detroit Mercy.

Allan Warnick, DDS, Chief Forensic Odontologist, Wayne and Oakland County Medical Examiners Office, earned his degree from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry. Dr. Warnick is a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Odontology and a Fellow of the Academy of Forensic Sciences. Dr. Warnick is the Team Leader of the Michigan Dental Association Forensic Dental Identification Team, which has responded to the Northwest Flight #255, Flight #1487, and Comair Flight #3272 airplane disasters. Most recently, he was deployed as part of the NDMS-DMORT team to assist at the World Trade Center.
Ashok Balasundaram, BDS, DDS, MDS, MS

Carl Stone, DDS, MA, MBA, MA, Associate Professor, Department of Operative Restorative Dentistry is a registered pharmacist as well as a dentist. He received his Pharmacy degree from Wayne State University and earned his DDS, MA in Education, MBA, and his MA in Economics from the University of Detroit Mercy. He currently teaches Amalgam Restoration and Complete Dentures to the dental students and guest lectures in the Pain and Anxiety course to the dental hygiene students.

Carolynn A. Zeitz, RDH, BS, RDA is a full-time faculty in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a clinical instructor in the Pediatric Clinic and coordinates the Pediatric Community Dental Screenings for Head Start Programs in Detroit. She received her Bachelor of Science and Certificate in Dental Hygiene from the University Of Detroit Mercy School Of Dentistry. She became interested in teaching while a dental hygiene student and was active on many levels at the school. In addition to her faculty position she also works part time at a general dentistry and pediatric offices. Is an active member of the ADHA, ADEA, AAPD and Sigma Phi Alpha. Outside of school, Carolynn has been married to her high school sweetheart for 23 years, has two children (18 yr old daughter and 14 yr old son), and two golden retrievers. She enjoys woodworking, interior design, and camping.

Claudine Sordyl, RN, MS received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Mercy College of Detroit (UDM) and a Masters of Science in Health Services Administration at University of Detroit (UDM). She has many years of experience in hospital nursing (oncology, medical-surgical, critical care, emergency), and in the dental arena of oral and maxillofacial surgery and study coordinator in drug research projects. Currently, Claudine is Associate Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Dentistry where she teaches Physical Assessment and Medical Emergency, Pain and Anxiety Control, Therapeutics, Nitrous Oxide/Local Anesthesia and Basic Life Support classes to dental/dental hygiene undergraduate and post graduate students, staff, and faculty. Local and national speaking engagements include topics on Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office, Complications of Nitrous Oxide, Pivotal Responsibilities for Dental Auxiliaries involving Sedation and Anesthesia in Dental Practice, and Local and Systemic Complications of Local Anesthesia.

Dincer Gurun, DMD, DDS, Interim Chairperson, Department of Restorative Dentistry, Clinical Assistant Professor, and Co-Coordinator UDM Implant Program earned his DMD and Prosthodontic training at the University of Istanbul, Turkey. He remained on faculty at the University as an assistant instructor while also maintaining a private practice. Dr. Gurun completed a fellowship program in Prosthodontics at the University of Florida, College of Dentistry. He spent four years teaching as a full time faculty member there in the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry, also maintaining his faculty practice. Dr. Gurun joined the UDM Prosthodontic Department in 2001 and also received his U.S. DDS degree from the same institution. He has published both abstracts and articles mostly related to clinical techniques. He is also active in a number of professional associations.

Donald Newell, DDS, MS, is Professor of Graduate Periodontics and Assistant Director of Graduate Periodontics at the Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD). He earned his DDS and MS degrees and Certification in Periodontics from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. He served 22 years in the U.S. Army Dental Corps where he trained 30 general practice residents and two Periodontics residents. Before joining the IUSD faculty, Dr. Newell taught at the University of Texas Dental School in San Antonio. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. He has published over 20 papers and abstracts and has given over 150 national and international presentations on periodontics and related fields of dentistry.
Gail E. Molinari, DDS, MS, Associate Professor, Department of Pediatric Dentistry

Gary Berman, DDS, Consulting Forensic Odontologist, Wayne and Oakland County Medical Examiners' Offices, maintains a private practice in Belleville, MI. Dr. Berman earned his DDS from the University of Michigan, is a member of the International College of Dentists, and was deployed as part of the DMORT team that assisted at the World Trade Center.

Ghabi A. Kaspo, D.D.S. , maintains a practice dedicated exclusively to the conservative treatment of TMJ disorders, chronic orofacial pain management, and sleep disorders. He obtained a D.D.S. and a Diploma in Orthodontics from Damascus University and a D.D.S. from the University of Detroit Mercy. He received a Certificate of Training in TMJ and Orofacial Pain Management after completing a one-year, full time fellowship program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Orofacial Pain and the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Kaspo has lectured locally, nationally and internationally. He has published articles relating to TMJ disorders in local, national and international dental journals. He also contributed a chapter to Fibromyalgia: The complete Guide from Medical Expert and Patients.
Hassan Oueis, DDS, PhD, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Oueis is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. He received his Degree in Dentistry (DDS) from Damascus University, Syria 1995, Doctor of Philosophy in Dental Science and Pediatric Dentistry Certificate form Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Japan, 2002. He also completed an advanced fellowship in Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s Hospital of Columbus, Ohio. He is interested in clinical research in the area of Pediatric Dentistry. He has published many articles in national and international journals.

Helena Perez, D.D.S. completed her undergraduate at the University of Michigan where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene. She graduated from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Dental School where she went on to complete her Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Perez is currently Interim Chairperson and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She is also a Faculty member of the Misch International Implant Institute. She is originally from Quito, Ecuador, but was raised in Michigan since grade school.
Irving Riley, D.D.S. is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. He is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and he has served as Dental Director for Fulton County Georgia. Dr. Riley is currently in full-time practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He is on the attending staff of DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital and William Beaumont Hospital of Royal Oak. Dr. Riley is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and he is also a Fellow of the following organizations: The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The American College of Dentists, The Pierre Fauchard Academy, and The International College of Dentists.

James Geist, D.D.S., M.S. is a professor in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences at the University of Detroit Mercy, earned a DDS from the University of Illinois and a MS in Oral Pathology from Indiana University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Dr. Geist teaches courses in radiology and pathology. His research interests include the diagnostic efficacy of imaging systems. He has received the President's Award for Faculty Excellence and has been selected Outstanding Instructor 12 times by dental and dental hygiene classes. He serves as Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Imaging Center at the University.

James Winkler, PhD DDS, Professor and Chairperson, Department of Periodontology and Dental Hygiene, is internationally recognized for his work on HIV. Dr. Winkler received his DDS and PhD in Biological Sciences from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Certificate in Periodontics from the University of California at San Francisco. Dr. Winkler currently teaches interdisciplinary courses in biological basis to soft tissue disease to both dental and dental hygiene students. His interests include the management of oral manifestations of immunocomprimised patients. His research focuses on histopathogenesis of periodontal diseases.

Jason Souyias, DDS, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Periodontology and Dental Hygiene, and Private Practitioner, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He earned his D.D.S. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2002. He received his certificate in Periodontology from Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry in 2005. Dr. Souyias maintains a full time private practice in Auburn Hills and is a part-time Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Periodontology and Hygiene, at the University of Detroit Mercy. In his spare time Dr. Souyias enjoys playing golf and soccer.

Jill Loewen, RDA, MS, NCTAS, Clinical Assistant Professor and Project Coordinator for Tobacco and Quality Assurance Programs at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, earned both a B.S. degree in Allied Health Education and a Master of Science degree in Career and Technical Education from Ferris State University. She is a former Dental Assisting program educator, a past president of the Michigan Dental Assistants Association, and serves as a board member of the Michigan Dental Foundation. Ms. Loewen is a recipient of the MDAA Impact Award and the American Dental Assistants Association Pride Award. She is a Nationally Certified Tobacco Addiction Specialist.

John Molinari, PhD, Professor and Chairperson, Department of Biomedical Sciences, earned a BA from St. Vincent College and a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He has published over 300 scientific articles and abstracts in Microbiology and Immunology and is a co-author of the textbook Practical Infection Control in Dentistry. Dr. Molinari has lectured nationally and internationally on topics dealing with infectious diseases and dental asepsis. He also serves as a consultant for hospitals in the Detroit area and serves as a consultant to the ADA. Previously, he was the Project Coordinator for the governmental Health Resources and Services Administration Task Force on AIDS and Dental Education and Chairman of the American Association of Dental Schools Curriculum Advisory Committee on Bloodborne Infectious Diseases. Dr. Molinari is also a consultant to the CDC in the areas of infectious disease and infection control.
John Sauk, DDS, 67’ MS, Professor of Pathology, School of Medicine, and James Graham Brown Cancer Center, and Dean for the School of Dentistry, University of Louisville, received his DDS from the University of Detroit and a MS in Oral Pathology from the University of Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Navy at the Naval Dental Research Institute and later joined the University of Minnesota faculty serving as Professor in the Department of Orofacial Genetics and Pathology and later as Chairperson of Pathology and Associate Dean for Research and Training in the School of Dentistry and Professor of Pathology in the School of Medicine and the Greenebaum Cancer Center at the University of Maryland. He is a fellow of the American Head and Neck Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He has been a consultant to the Veterans Administration, United Cerebral Palsy Center, American Brittle Bone Society, American Fund for Dental Health, Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Sciences, The Smithsonian, and the Hong Kong Research Grants Council.

Junu Ojha, B.D.S., M.S., Assistant Professor, Department of Diagnostic Sciences, earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from Calcutta Dental College, India and a certificate in Oral Pathology from the University of Florida at Gainesville. Dr. Ojha is a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. She teaches General and Oral Pathology to graduate, undergraduate and dental hygiene students at the University of Detroit Mercy. Dr. Ojha has several publications in leading peer reviewed journals. Her research interests include Bisphosphonate induced osteochemonecrosis, Sjogren’s syndrome and Burning mouth syndrome.

Kathleen Neveu, RDH, MS, Clinical Associate Professor and Dental Hygiene Clinic Coordinator, Department of Periodontology and Dental Hygiene, earned a Certificate and BS in Dental Hygiene at the University of Detroit and her MS in Health Care Education at University of Detroit Mercy. Ms. Neveu teaches pre-clinical and clinical periodontics to dental and dental hygiene students. Ms. Neveu is also a registered dental assistant and is an RDA Examiner for the State of Michigan. She formerly served as the Infection Control and Hazard Supervisor at the School of Dentistry, facilitating implementation of OSHA/MIOSHA guidelines, and lectures to dental and dental hygiene students on this topic.

Kim Werth, RDH, MA, Assistant Clinical Professor, Dental Student Patient Management Mentor Director, Department of Patient Management. She earned a Certificate and a BS in Dental Hygiene from the University of Detroit and a MA in Community Counseling from the University of Detroit Mercy. Ms. Werth has taught clinical dental hygiene, prevention of oral diseases, periodontal instrumentation, and communication skills. She has lectured on periodontal maintenance and oral health products in continuing education courses. Ms. Werth has been the recipient of several Outstanding Faculty awards given by students.
Kristina Okolisan-Mulligan, Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences, and Clinical Competency Advisor for students in the Department of Periodontology and Dental Hygiene, earned her Certificate and Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene at the University of Detroit. She lectures in General Pathology, Oral Pathology, and Board Review to dental hygiene students and most recently started teaching clinical radiology to dental and dental hygiene students. Her additional interests include assessing clinical competency and the development of portfolio emerging methodologies. Ms Okolisan-Mulligan is also a contributing editor for “Modern Hygienist” magazine where her column “Pathways” includes her passion, the topic of pathology. She has been the recipient of the Outstanding Clinical Faculty award given by students and is currently a member of ADHA, MDHA, Sigma Phi Alpha National Dental Hygiene Honor Society and American Academy OMP. She also practices clinically part-time in a periodontal office. Kristina is pursuing a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction Education.

L. Michael Verdusco, B.A., Assistant Director for Business Services/Instructional Designer, Instructional Design Studio, currently assists university faculty to produce online media and courses to facilitate student learning. Verdusco develops and conducts various training workshops and manages projects specializing in multimedia to help support university faculty. He also consults to design websites and media workshops.

Laura Manning-Lee, BS, Adjunct Clinical Instructor, Department of Periodontology and Dental Hygiene, earned her Certificate and Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene at the University of Detroit Mercy. She teaches pre-clinical and clinical periodontics to dental hygiene and dental students and lectures on sonic, ultrasonic, and periodontal instrumentation, and most recently emerging technology in the dental office. Ms. Manning-Lee has held a full-time position in a prosthodontic practice for nine years. She's a recent recipient of the "Student National Dental Hygiene Association Faculty Award." She is currently an active member of the ADHA, MDHA, and her local component. She is the Immediate Past President of Sigma Phi Alpha National Dental Hygiene Honor Society.
Leyvee Cabanilla Jacobs, MS, DMD, DDS

Margie Coleman, RDH, BS, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Periodontology and Dental Hygiene and Director of Dental Hygiene Admissions, graduated from the University of Detroit with her Certificate and BS in Dental Hygiene. She currently teaches Dental Anatomy to both dental and dental hygiene students as well teaching the Pain and Anxiety course for dental hygiene students. Ms. Coleman is the continuing education coordinator for both the Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide Sedation courses for practicing hygienists. Her courses in Pain and Anxiety Control have been recognized and implemented nationally by states with recent implementation or pending legislation for legalization of these skills.

Mark T. Murphy, DDS, FAGD, is the Vice President of Educational Services for Mercer Advisors and is the Director of Professional Relations for Quantum Dental Resources. He practiced general dentistry in Rochester, Michigan. Mark graduated from UDM School of Dentistry in 1981 and taught Anatomy and Crown and Bridge part time for several years. He has served on the Visiting Faculty of The Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education since 1991 and on its Board of Directors and Trustees until taking a fulltime role with them through 2007. Mark has lectured internationally on Leadership, Practice Management, Philosophy, Communication, Case Acceptance, Overdenture Implants, Occlusion, and TMD. He is an exciting and very entertaining speaker, blending a stand-up style of humor and anecdotes with current research and information that you can take home and use in your practice right away. Rave reviews follow his presentations wherever he goes!

Melissa J. Poynter is the clinical coordinator at the Smile Enhancement Studio. She has been working in the dental profession for 14 years. She has completed many courses, continuing her dental education and has had her dental photography featured in many publications. She was awarded a gold medal for her portrait photography in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) Smile Gallery competition. She continues to lecture throughout the metro Detroit area assisting other dental offices to create and utilize high quality photography in their practice.

Michael Linebaugh, DDS, MS, Associate Professor, Department of Prosthodontic Restorative Dentistry, earned his DDS from the University of Detroit and his MS in Prosthodontics from the University of Michigan. He is currently on staff at the Detroit Veterans Hospital Graduate Dental Program and participates in their prosthodontic dental residents. In addition to teaching, Dr. Linebaugh also maintains a private prosthodontic dental practice.

Monish Bhola, DDS, MSD, Associate Professor of Periodontology, Director of Post-Graduate Periodontics. Dr. Bhola is Co-Director of Implant Dentistry at the school of dentistry, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He is licensed in basic and advanced cardiac life support and certified in the use of Intravenous sedation. Dr. Bhola also maintains a private practice limited to Periodontics and Implants in Waterford, Michigan.

Nasser Said-Al-Naief, D.D.S., M.S., Associate Professor of Pathology and Surgery, University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine, Associate Scientist, Center for Metabolic Bone Disease & Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Said began his dental training in Iraq. He continued his career with a degree in Dentistry from Marquette University, where he also served as faculty. He obtained two certifications in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and at Long Island Jewish Medical Center / Albert Einstein Hospital. He also earned a Master’s degree in Oral Biology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Said has also completed an advanced fellowship in Head and Neck /ENT Pathology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He has authored and co-authored numerous articles, manuscripts, abstracts and posters in various topics in head and neck pathology and a chapter in Maxillofacial Pathology. He continues to actively participate in a wide range of basic and translational research related to head and neck pathology.

Pamela Voletti Gibes, RDH, BS, Adjunct Clinical Instructor in the Department of Periodontology and Dental Hygiene at the University of Detroit Mercy, received her Certificate in Dental Hygiene at University of Detroit and her BS in Dental Hygiene at University of Detroit Mercy. She teaches pre-clinical and clinical periodontics to dental hygiene and dental students and lectures in clinical seminar. She practices dental hygiene in St. Clair Shores, MI.

Pamela Zarkowski, JD, MPH, BSDH is currently the Interim Academic Vice President and Provost Professor and former Executive Associate Dean at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She received her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Public Health in Dental Public Health and Teaching Certificate in Community Dentistry from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor from the Wayne State University School of Law. An educator for more than 30 years, she has held various administrative roles at the UDM including chairperson and associate dean. In addition to administration, she is involved teaching community dentistry and legal and ethical concepts to pre-doctoral, dental hygiene and graduate students. She has conducted continuing education courses and published in the areas of legal and ethical issues for dental professionals. She is a former president of the American Dental Education Association and American Society for Dental Ethics. She is the former Chairperson of the ADEA/Gies Foundation and past president for the Society of Executive Leadership for in Academic Medicine (SELAM). Additionally she is a faculty contributor to the ADEA Leadership Institute and Allied Leadership Institute.
Raymond Skowronski, D.D.S., F.A.D.I. earned his bachelor’s degree (Summa Cum Laude) in biology and later his DDS from the University Of Detroit Mercy. He has served on the faculty of the University of Detroit Mercy and Oakland Community College. Dr. Skowronski is a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International, Diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management, Member of Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Academy of General Dentistry and American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. He has completed over 1300 hours of continuing education since graduating with emphasis in the subject of head, face and neck pain, as well as orthodontics and dental sleep medicine.
Rebecca S. Wilder, RDH, MS graduated with a BS and MS degree in Dental Hygiene Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is currently an Associate Professor and Director of Faculty Development for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. She also serves as Director of the Master of Science Degree Program in Dental Hygiene Education. She taught Periodontology to dental hygiene students for 10 years and currently teaches management/administration and thesis/research design.
Richard L. Small, J.D., Executive Director, Michigan Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Great Lakes Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, General Counsel, Michigan Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Council of Michigan Dental Specialties earned his BS from Michigan State University and his JD from the University of Detroit Law School. His previous law practice experience includes defending dentists in malpractice litigation for 19 years and serving as the general counsel for the Michigan Association of Endodontists, Association of Maxillofacial Prosthodontists, and Michigan Association of Orthodontists. Current activities include: Owner of the Richard Small Agency which insures dentists and dental specialists, Dental Consulting and Claims Management, Risk Management Consulting and author of a single textbook chapter and various journal articles in the area of risk management.

Shilpa Kolhatkar, DDS, MDS, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Periodontology and Dental Hygiene, earned a BDS and MDS from Bangalore University, India, a DDS from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and a Certificate in Periodontics from Indiana University School of Dentistry. Dr. Kolhatkar is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She is the staff periodontist for the School of Dentistry at the University Health Center in Detroit Receiving Hospital, and maintains a private practice limited to Periodontics and Implants in Troy, Michigan.

Shin-Mey Rose Yin Geist DDS, MS is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Diagnostic Sciences and Patient Management at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She has taught oral medicine in the classroom and clinics since 1990. Dr. Geist is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Medicine. She has given many presentations on the topic of oral health care of patients with medical complexities. She co-authored the online patient information of the American Academy of Oral Medicine. She is also a member of Diabetes Partners in Action Coalition (DPAC) Michigan Chapter. She has been a strong advocator in meeting special oral health needs of individuals with various medical conditions including diabetes mellitus.
Stephen D. Poss, DDS graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1983. His postgraduate education includes the "Contemporary Esthetic Diagnosis and Treatment" course at Baylor University. He also completed the Advanced, Masters, and Full Mouth Reconstruction continuums at the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies. Dr. Poss was the Clinical Director of the Advanced Anterior Aesthetic programs at the Las Vegas Institute from 1998-2001 and also was Clinical Director of the Advanced Posterior programs from 2001-2003. He is currently the Clinical Director of both programs at The Exceptional Practice in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Poss lectures internationally and has published numerous articles on aesthetic dentistry. He is a consultant to several dental companies on new product development. He is on the editorial board of Realty Publishing. Dr. Poss maintains an aesthetic-based practice in Brentwood, Tennessee.
Stephen F. Rosenstiel B.D.S., M.S.D. Professor and Chairman of Restorative Dentistry, Ohio State University College of Dentistry, Vice-President of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics . Dr. Rosenstiel maintains an intramural prosthodontic practice at Ohio State. He is a dental graduate of Birmingham University in England, and he obtained his Masters in Prosthodontics at Indiana University. He taught fixed prosthodontics and occlusion at the University of Florida and University of London before joining Ohio State in 1985. Dr. Rosenstiel is on the editorial boards of the European Journal of Dentistry, the Journal of Dentistry, the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and Prosthetic Dentistry Review.

Stephen Wilson, DMD, MA, PhD, Professor and Director of the Division of Dentistry at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Wilson received his dental degree (D.M.D.) and Doctorate in Physiology (Ph.D.) at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. His residency training in Pediatric Dentistry was done at the University of Louisville and Kosair-Children’s Hospital. Dr. Wilson also has a Master’s degree (M.A.) in Psychology that, along with his Bachelor of Science (B.S.), was obtained from Eastern Illinois University.

Steven J. Ceresnie, PhD, Licensed Psychologist, Affiliate Assistant Professor, Departments of Patient Management and Orthodontics is a former President of the Michigan Psychological Association and represented Michigan psychologists on the Executive Council of the American Psychological Association. He is on staff at the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Dentistry in the Departments of Patient Management and Orthodontics teaching courses on the behavioral aspects of dentistry. Dr. Ceresnie has been in private practice in Plymouth, Michigan for 30 years.

Vinod Miriyala, DDS, BDS, MPH, Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, received a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Amravathi University in India and a MPH from Ohio State University. Dr. Miriyala holds certificates in Dental Public Health from University of Pittsburgh, Advanced Graduate Study in Pediatric Dentistry from Boston University. He also completed a General Practice Residency, a fellowship in Dental Public Health, and was a Clinical Fellow in Pediatric Dentistry at Ohio State University.

W.Choong Foong, BSc (Hons), PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Biomedical Sciences, earned his B.Sc. (Hons.) and Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the School of Pharmacy, Portsmouth University (England). He then joined the Dalhousie University for two consecutive Post-Doctoral Fellowships in Biopharmaceutics and Dental Materials. He currently teaches graduate and undergraduate pharmacology and therapeutics in the nursing, dental, and dental hygiene programs. Dr. Foong also participates in clinical teaching, providing chair-side pharmacology and therapeutics instruction.

William Forbes, DDS, Associate Professor in the Biomedical Science Department, earned his DDS from the University of Michigan. Dr. Forbes is Course Director for the Gross Anatomy and Head and Neck Anatomy courses for dental and dental hygiene students as well as the graduate residents. In addition, he is an adjunct professor in the anatomy courses at the Wayne State University Medical School. Prior to joining the UDM faculty, Dr. Forbes practiced general dentistry in a small town in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine for 27 years and taught part-time as adjunct faculty at the University of Maine.

Yuksel Erpardo, DDS, PhD, has been a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 2006. He received his DDS degree and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Turkey at Istanbul University. Dr. Erpardo has a PhD in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He also has an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Fellowship certificate in implants from University of Florida.
