Ayman El Madawy, BDS, MS, PhD, Clinical Professor, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, completed his dental degree from Cairo University in Egypt in 1983, finished his OMS residency and obtained a Master's Degree in OMS in 1989. He was then awarded a scholarship for a PhD thesis research and clinical training at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 1991 to 1994.  Dr. El Madawy was heavily involved with the diagnosis and treatment of the TMJ diseases since 1999. Besides being an Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. El Madawy has further specialized in the surgical and non-surgical management of the TMJ disorders. He supervised a number of Master and PhD theses as well as conducted several clinical research works that were published in medical and dental Journals. In 2007 he was promoted to a professor of OMS and the director of the resident program at his home university in Cairo. Dr. El Madawy was hired as an adjunct instructor at the OMS Department at UDM School of Dentistry in August 2009.
