Wisam Al-Rawi

Dr. Wisam Al-Rawi has completed his MSc degree in medical imaging (oral imaging option) from K.U.Leuven, Leuven, Belgium in 2006 and MS degree in oral and maxillofacial radiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC, United States in 2009. He is currently holding an adjunct faculty position at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and studying in the Accelerated Dental Program. He founded Marcilan Inc. A company dedicated for oral radiology education and created two educational apps in oral radiology for iPhone and iPad: CBCT and iPanoramic. He helped two dental schools to move to digital radiography. He has published several papers regarding Cone Beam CT and oral radiology education.      

He currently teaches pre-doctoral dental and dental hygiene students; image acquisition and radiographic interpretation in the oral radiology clinic. He is in the accelerated dental program (ADP).

Dr. Tanaka graduated from Hiroshima University Dental School in Japan. After her completion of the residency program in Endodontics and Periodontology at Osaka University, she served as full-time faculty. During her appointment, she worked in molecular biology at the University of Pennsylvania. (as an scholarship?)   Dr.Tanaka earned certificates both in Oral Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania and in the fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Tanaka received her DDS degree from the University of Detroit Mercy and has been teaching at UDM since 2007. She is also an adjunct Clinical Lecturer at University of Michigan since 2009.

Her research interests include oral manifestations of systemic diseases and orofacial pain.

Dr. Tanaka is a Dipromat of the American board of Oral Medicine and also a Fellow in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
