Dr. Thanik teaches a clinical orthodontic segment modeled after his own practice treatment philosophy, in addition to lecturing in several dental and postgraduate orthodontic courses. He.is a senior clinician and a American Board of Orthodontics’ Diplomate. Dr. Thanik´s life-long learning career in dentistry spans 60 years. In the period between 1952-1967, he completed two D.D.S. degrees-one in India and one in the Canada, two masters-one in basic science and one in oral biology, a certificate in orthodontics, a one year clinical dental Fellowship (pediatric dentistry), and a two year internship in the oral surgery department at Genesee Hospital at the University of Rochester. He belongs to many orthodontic organizations in the U.S. and Canada, and has received several awards for his work in orthodontics. Dr. Thanik joined the University as a part-time instructor in 1971 and became a full time faculty member in 1995.
