Pamela Zarkowski is currently Professor and Academic Vice President of the University of Detroit Mercy and is the former Executive Associate Dean at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She received her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Public Health degrees and Teaching Certificate in Community Dentistry from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor from the Wayne State University School of Law. An educator for more than 31 years, she has held various administrative roles at UDM including chairperson of three departments and associate dean. In addition to administration, she is involved teaching community dentistry and legal and ethical concepts to pre-doctoral, dental hygiene and graduate students. She has conducted continuing education courses and published in the areas of leadership and legal, and legal issues and for dental professionals. She is a former president of the American Dental Education Association and American Society for Dental Ethics. She is also the former Chairperson of the ADEA/Gies Foundation and past president for the Society of Executive Leadership for in Academic Medicine (SELAM). Additionally she is a faculty contributor to the annual ADEA Leadership Institute and Allied Leadership Institute and a senior consultant for the Academy for Academic Leadership.
