Recommended High School Preparation
Though no specific high school
courses are required for admission to UDM, the most
successful candidates are those who've had a well-balanced
college preparatory program, including:
four units of college preparatory English
three units of Mathematics
two units of History and/or Social Studies
two units of Natural Science including a lab
study in Speech, Foreign Language, Music, Art or other
subjects which contribute to a well-rounded academic
background.
For Pre-Dental Hygiene students,
additional recommendations include:
one unit of Algebra,
one unit of Biology,
one or more units of Chemistry
Keep in mind that the quality
of your academic performance and difficulty of the courses
you select are more important than merely meeting the
minimum requirements. It is particularly important that
you demonstrate strength in those high school subjects
directly related to the UDM program you wish to enter.

Notification of Acceptance
University of Detroit Mercy operates
on a "rolling" admission basis. Applicants
are usually notified of their status within two to three
weeks of completing the application procedures.
ACT or SAT Results
Freshmen can submit the test scores
most commonly taken by high school students in their
home state and no preference is given to either ACT
or SAT I. Students who would like to receive an admissions
decision as soon as possible in the fall should plan
to take their test in the second semester of their junior
year, but tests taken in the senior year are also acceptable.
The admissions process will move more quickly if test
score results are sent directly to UDM by either act
or sat. To do this, simply list UDM as a test score
recipient when the test is taken. The UDM code number
for the ACT is 2060 and the code number for the SAT
is 1835.
