Dental associations host Oral Cancer Walk

June 25, 2008

The Student National Dental Association at University of Detroit Mercy and the National Dental Association (SNDA/NDA) are hosting their annual Detroit Oral Cancer Walk on Saturday, July 26, 2008 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Woodward and Montcalm (near Comerica Park).  University of Detroit Mercy students, faculty, patients and friends are asked to register at 8:30 a.m. to participate in this worthwhile event.

The Student National Dental Association at University of Detroit Mercy and the National Dental Association (SNDA/NDA) are hosting their annual Detroit Oral Cancer Walk on Saturday, July 26, 2008 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Woodward and Montcalm (near Comerica Park).  University of Detroit Mercy students, faculty, patients and friends are asked to register at 8:30 a.m. to participate in this worthwhile event.

The University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and Clinic will host a Community Open House on Saturday, May 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on UDM's Corktown Campus, 2700 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The Clinic will offer oral health and blood pressure screenings, information on better dental care for for adults and children, and answers on avoiding oral cancer and smoking cessation at no charge. The event is part of the School of Dentistry's 75th Anniversary celebration.

On January 17, at 10 a.m., University of Detroit Mercy opened a new School of Dentistry and Clinic, part of the institution's $80 million investment in giving back to the City of Detroit. The new wireless facility is one of the largest dental school and clinics in the country.
