How to Apply

To qualify for the Summer Enrichment Program the applicant must be educationally and/or economically disadvantaged

Underrepresented Minority (URM): Underrepresented minorities are defined as individuals who are Black or African American, American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, Hispanic or Latino, and Asian other than Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Asian Indian, or Thai.


  • Educationally Disadvantaged: an individual who comes from an environment that has inhibited the individual from obtaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to enroll in and graduate from a health professions school or allied health program; e.g., a person who is the first generation to attend and graduate from a 4-year college/university, or who had access to limited upper level courses in high school
  • Economically Disadvantaged: an individual who comes from a family with an annual income at or below low-income thresholds according to family size (please refer to following chart.)
