Patient Financial Services

The office of patient financial services is here to help you.

Fees

The School of Dentistry charges fees for dental treatment.  In the student clinics, fees are generally 30-50% less than those charged in a private practice.  Specific fees will be discussed once you are accepted as a patient and a treatment plan is developed.

Insurance

The School of Dentistry accepts most dental insurance plans, including Medicaid.  We do not participate in PPO or HMO dental insurance plans. If you have a PPO or HMO plan, you must confirm with the insurance company that you are covered if you receive treatment from an out-of-network provider.

You must present complete information about your dental insurance plan at your initial visit and notify Patient Financial Services of any change in or loss of coverage.  We will bill your dental insurance plan as a courtesy to you.  You will be responsible for any portion of the fee your dental insurance does not pay.

Payment Options

Payment in full, including co-payments, is required when service is rendered.  For some services, for example dentures and crowns, 1/3 payment is due at the start of treatment, 1/3 the middle, and the final 1/3 before the treatment is completed.

The School of Dentistry accepts the following methods of payment:

  • Cash
  • Money Order
  • MasterCard
  • Visa

Personal checks are accepted after a treatment plan has been developed and signed. They are not accepted for emergency services or services completed before the treatment plan is signed.
