AEGD stands for Advanced Education in General Dentistry, a one or two year training program for experience in more advanced and complex dental procedures.
Patient Care Services
Patients with treatment needs or medical histories that are too complex for the dental student are referred to the AEGD Clinic. Treatment is provided by residents (dentists getting additional training) under the supervision of licensed faculty dentists. Almost all general dentistry procedures are provided in the clinic - root canals, crowns, implants, dentures, extractions, esthetic dentistry such as teeth whitening and veneers, and deep cleanings.
Clinic Hours and Appointments
The AEGD Clinic is open 10:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. It is closed for major holidays and at other times throughout the year for conferences, meetings and academic related events and breaks.
The AEGD clinic accepts referrals from private dentists and from within the School of Dentistry. For more information please call the AEGD Clinic at (313) 494-6873. Due to the high demand for treatment in this clinic there will be periods of time the AEGD clinic is closed to new patients. Patients can request to be placed on the waiting list to become a new patient.
