Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is the dental specialty focused on the diagnosis, surgical and adjunctive treatment of diseases, defects and injuries to the oral and maxillofacial area.  Most common procedures include extractions, pre-prosthetic surgeries and implant placements.

Patient Care Services

 Residents, dentists who are receiving additional training, provide various oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures including biopsies, extractions, preprosthetic surgeries, and placement of implants.  Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and IV sedation are available. Fees are approximately 70-75% those charged by private dentists.  Dental students provide simple extractions at fees approximately 50% those charged by private dentists.  Both dental students and residents are supervised by licensed faculty dentists with oral and maxillofacial surgery specialty training.

Clinic Hours and Appointments

The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic is open 9:30am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.  It is closed for major holidays and at other times throughout the year for conferences, meetings and academic related events and breaks.
