Periodontics is the dental specialty concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the surrounding and supporting tissues (gums) of the teeth. Most common procedures include scale and root planings (deep cleanings), and soft-tissue (gum) surgeries.
Patient Care Services
Residents, dentists who are receiving additional training, provide various periodontic procedures including deep cleanings, gum surgeries, biopsies and implant placements. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and IV sedation are available. Fees for services are approximately 70-75% those charged by private dentists.
