Overview

This is an extremely exciting time for research at the University of Detroit Mercy. There is a clear momentum shown by increased interest, collaboration, opportunities and activity in dental research. At UDM external funding, student involvement and faculty presentations are at an all time high.

Development of a research laboratory as well as ongoing projects coupled with the clinical expertise that is found amongst the faculty has made UDM extremely attractive to dental companies for material testing and evaluation. We have received over $70,000 in industrial grants in the past two years alone. This type of relationship with companies is significant for the school to stay at the cutting edge of dental materials and devices. Additionally it offers the manufacturer's invaluable information for product development and improvement.
