Welcome to the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry Student Government Home Page!

The UDMSDSG is a representative body for students pursuing education in the Dental and Dental Hygiene programs, at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.

The UDMSDSG is composed of members from each of the dental and dental hygiene classes. Each class elects four members to fill the positions of president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary. One or all of these individuals must be present at all monthly meetings from September to July. Any student in the School Dentistry is welcome to attend any of the meetings.

What Does the UDMSDSG Do?

The UDMSDSG serves as a voice for student needs and concerns at UDMSD.

The UDMSDSG is charged with several tasks including, but not limited to:

  1. Collecting and expressing student body opinion.
  2. Considering all matters presented by the student body. faculty, or administration.
  3. Assisting in the orientation of the incoming DS1 students.
  4. Recording and disseminating Student Government issues to the student body.
  5. Providing student representatives on faculty and administrative committees when requested.
  6. Facilitating interaction between the School of Dentistry and the other schools represented bv the University of Detroit Mercy.
  7. Acting as a liaison between the student body and the faculty and administration.
  8. Maintaining a high standard of professional integrity and conduct.
  9. Improving the art and science of dentistry. Promote unity, morale and the general well- being of the student body.
