Doctor of Dental Surgery Programs

Detroit Mercy Dental offers several programs, all which achieve a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association. Please browse the options to find the one most applicable to you.
Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) Program:
The D.D.S. Program is four years in duration and is intended for individuals who have received an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.
Seven Year B.S./D.D.S. Program
The Seven-Year BS/DDS academic program enables students to earn a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) and a Baccalaureate Degree in seven calendar years, rather than eight. This program is meant for, and only available to, high school students pursuing undergraduate education with strong academic credentials.
Accelerated Dental Program
This program provides foreign trained dentists an opportunity to earn a DDS degree from an accredited U.S. dental school in order to help meet the educational requirements for eligibility for licensure in all states. It is also helpful to those planning an academic career in dental education and research.
