AADSAS DOES NOT send transcripts to the school.
Please note:
- If you have attended more than one school, we still require every official transcript from all schools.
- For those of you that will not be completing a degree, we will require your official final transcript with the grades from your last semester completed.
- If you will be taking classes in the Summer semester, you can send your transcript after all classes have been completed.
- If you have completed your degree and are no longer taking class, please send in your transcript immediately.
- This information is required no later than July 3, 2020.

Big Brother - Big Sister Program
Big Brother/Big Sister pairings will be mailed to you. If you have moved or need to update your mailing address, please do so immediately by notifying Danielle Harris at harrisdm@udmercy.edu
We’d like to facilitate the relationship that you will develop with the Class of 2023 at Detroit Mercy Dental by inviting you to participate in the Big Brother/Big Sister Program.
As you prepare to make the transition into dental school, you may be encountering several questions: Where to live? What kind of social life will I have once dental school starts? Am I prepared for the rigors of the program?
One of the best sources for support and information during this transition is the current student body at Detroit Mercy Dental. The members of the Dental Class of 2023 have just experienced their first year of dental school, and they are looking forward to helping you adapt to the rigorous, dynamic and busy life that awaits you.
In order to pair you up with a student with a similar background and/or interests, please take a moment to fill out the Big Brother/Big Sister, below.
The information provided will be used only for matching purposes.
You will learn who your big brother or sister in advance of the welcome party that the Class of 2023 will host for you in the Summer, so that you can meet him or her face to face well before Orientation Week.

Extracted Teeth
Due to Covid-19, collection of extracted teeth are not needed.
In preparation for your Pre-clinical simulation course, we would like you to start collecting extracted teeth. This can be done by contacting your local dentist, oral surgeons, or any dental office where teeth are extracted. Since there will be many uses, teeth in any condition (with or without decay) can be collected; any type, anterior or posterior is acceptable. Obtain as many extracted teeth as you can.
When contacting dental offices, please identify yourself as a dental student and in need of extracted teeth for school projects.
Please note, because you will be transporting human tissues, these items must be sterilized or kept in a sterile environment. This can be accomplished by having the dental office autoclave them (after which you must keep them in that same sterile autoclave bag) or place them in an airtight jar containing a solution of 50%/50% bleach and water.
If you plan to fly here, you must transport the teeth in a sterile autoclave bag in your luggage. Do not place a bleach solution in a checked bag or in your carry-on luggage (please check with your airline carrier before bringing any teeth with you).
Please do not handle these teeth without proper protection such as gloves, mask, and protective eyewear.
