Registration Continuing Education

Tuition-paid registrations are processed in the order in which they are received and will be acknowledged electronically through e-mail, regardless of registration process.

Early registration is advised to guarantee a place in all courses.

Online Registration

Online registration is the preferred method of registering for all continuing education courses. Please visit the individual course webpage and click on the "Register for this event" tab and follow the instructions to complete your registration.

Fax your completed registration form and MasterCard or Visa credit card information to 313-494-6844. Please use one form per person, per course.

By Mail

Mail your registration form and check payable to the University of Detroit Mercy - Dental CE.  

If you choose to pay for a continuing education course by check, please note that the check must be received by UDM within ten (10) days of registration. If the check is not received within ten (10) days of registration, we will assume that you are no longer interested in the course and will remove you from the course roster and you will forfeit your held seat. If you register less than ten (10) days prior to the start of a course, payment will be accepted up to the course start time. If additional time is required, please contact 313-494-6626 prior to registering to make a payment arrangement.

    Registration Policy

    For your convenience you may register up until 3:00 p.m. on the day prior to the start of the course with no additional charge.

    An additional non-refundable fee of $20 dollars per person, per course will be assessed to registrations received after 3:00 p.m. the day prior to a course or to walk-in registrants.


    Alumni Discount

    We are pleased to announce that all courses are offered to Detroit Mercy alumni at a 10% discount. Please make sure to choose “alumni” as part of your highest credential while registering for all courses.

    We unable to guarantee the ability to make a correction to the tuition rate once you have registered for a course. Should an error have been made while registering for a course, please notify our office at your earliest convenience. We will make every effort to correct the problem or to apply a credit toward a future course.



    Dental educational institutions have an obligation to disseminate new knowledge related to dental practice. In so doing, some presentations may contain controversial materials or commercial references. Sponsorship of a continuing dental education course by the University of Detroit Mercy does not necessarily imply endorsement of a particular philosophy, procedure, or product by this institution. Continuing dental education courses do not necessarily reflect the philosophies of the University of Detroit Mercy pre-doctoral or post-doctoral training programs.

    The University of Detroit Mercy Institute for Advanced Continuing Dental Education reserves the right to change or cancel program offerings without notice. Should a significant change occur, every effort would be made to notify registered participants. In addition, fees listed are subject to change at any time.


    Refund & Cancellation Policy

    Unless otherwise posted, a full refund less $25 will be granted if notification of cancellation is received by the Institute for Advanced Continuing Dental Education office two weeks (14 or more days) prior to the start of the course.

    If a cancellation is received less than two weeks (13 or less days) prior to the start of a lecture only course, a full refund less $100 will be granted. If a cancellation is received less than two weeks (13 or less days) prior to the start of a hands-on course, no refund will be granted. Refunds will not be provided for same-day cancellations or no-shows.

    *There will be an additional $100 administration fee (not to exceed the total cost of the course) charged for cancellation or rescheduling of the Local Anesthesia Administration for the Dental Hygienist course

Course Credit

  • To receive your continuing education credits, you must check in at the registration desk prior to the start of the course and be present during the entire course.
  • Credit letters will be emailed to individuals after the course is complete and the electronic course evaluation is returned.
  • Certified dental assistants should contact the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) regarding their continuing education credit guidelines and course requirements.

ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education.  ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry.

PACE Program Provider

The University of Detroit Mercy is designated as an Approved PACE Program Provider by the Academy of General Dentistry. The formal continuing dental education programs of this program provider are accepted by AGD for Fellowship, Mastership and membership maintenance credit. Approval does not imply acceptance by a state or provincial board of dentistry or AGD endorsement. The current term of approval extends from 5/1/2015 to 4/30/2019. Provider ID #214176.
