AEGD Admission

Open positions are available for the program beginning June 24, 2024

The Detroit Mercy Dental AEGD program accepts up to a total of seven dental school graduates who have fulfilled all admission requirements. The program will start with orientation the last week of June and end on June 30 of the following calendar year. Each graduating resident will be awarded a certificate of program completion.

The AEGD Program does not participate in MATCH.

Pre-requisites

The program has a rolling admissions process. Completed applications are reviewed and interviews will be granted to qualified applicants on a rolling basis. Acceptances may be extended to candidates shortly after their interview and prior to the February 1 PASS deadline.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • D.D.S./D.M.D. degree from a dental education program in the United States which is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)
  • Completion of INBDE not required prior to application; successful completion of INBDE required by March 1 for admitted applicants
  • Good academic credentials (GPA no less 2.8)
  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents or Canadian citizens

Application Process

The application process requires:

  • Completion of a PASS application.
    • Applications must be completed and filed with the PASS application service by February 1.
    • The completed PASS application should include all documents requested by PASS. The Detroit Mercy Dental requirements have been listed in PASS.

 University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry Supplemental Materials:

  • A link will be sent to all applicants after submission to PASS. There, you will pay the non-refundable application fee ($75.00 USD) and upload a photo of yourself.

If you have missed the February 1 PASS deadline, you are able to download and complete the linked paper application.  Please contact Lisa Wyrick (wyricklm@udmercy.edu) to inform her of your plan to complete a paper application.
